Hiking the Deer Springs Trail in Idyllwild

We hiked the Deer Springs Trail in Idyllwild today (well, part of it). It was a beautiful day and a nice hike. We kind of got a late start and didn't hike as far as I would have liked, but I pushed myself to hike faster with less stops since we couldn't go as far as I wanted to go. I will have to go back and hike further up this trail this summer.

Summer at the Tram - Looking forward to next week

My wife and I will be spending a lot of time hiking at the Palm Springs Tram this summer starting next weekend. Should be fun.

Auto breakin alert:

The idiots are at it again. I have been informed that thieves have been smashing car windows at trailheads throughout the valley and stealing valuables out of the vehicles. Do not leave anything of any value in your car (iPods, cell phones, GPS units, clothes, etc.), If you have things you cannot take with you lock them out of sight in the trunk.

Do not leave anything lying on the seats or in sight that even remotely looks like it could be valuable. These thieving idiots will break into cars that have valuables in plain sight before they will break into those that do not. While it might not stop them from breaking into your car it can help, and if you don't leave anything valuable in your car you will only have to replace a window, not everything you left inside the vehicle.

Going to the Palm Springs Tram this summer

Day two at the Palm Springs Aerial Tram on Tuesday. Only did part of the Round Valley Loop, still snow on the trail in places.
